Haikyuu Season 5 Is One Step Closer To Officially Being Confirmed

Exciting news for Haikyuu fans as it looks like season 5 of the anime series is already in production, and it could be announced soon officially in August 2022.

The new piece of information comes from @WSJ_manga on Twitter, who spotted that a new article published on Collabo Cafe (a Japanese website) is hinting at Haikyuu season 5. The article is about the collaboration between the Haikyuu!! and the Cookpad Live cooking app where the article mentions that there is a ‘Karasuno vs. Nekoma’-themed menu, which will be taking place in season 5 of the anime.

Following is the paragraph that mentions Haikyuu season 5:

In the third edition of the collaboration “Haikyuu!! x Cookpad Live Cafe”, titled as “Nekoma Festival”, the theme of “Karasuno Institute vs. Nekoma Institute”, which will be represented in the fifth season of the anime. The lineup includes a collaboration menu inspired by popular characters like Lev Haiba and other popular characters, as well as new merchandise including a newly drawn mini-carrier!

Keep in mind that this is not an official confirmation for Haikyuu season 5. Although, it is widely accepted that season 5 will happen as there is enough source material and there is no question about the popularity of the series, considering that Haikyuu is one of the most popular sports anime.

When To Expect Haikyuu Season 5 Official Announcement?

Haikyuu season 5 official announcement is expected on Haikyuu day, which takes place on August 19.

If season 5 doesn’t get announced on Haikyuu day, the next expected announcement date is Jump Festa in Dec 2022 when big anime series get announced. Keep in mind that Haikyuu season 4 was also announced during Jump Festa.

Haikyuu anime series is based on the manga, written and drawn by Haruichi Furudate, who began publishing the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2012, and ended the manga in July 2022. Production IG picked up the manga for an anime adaptation.

The first season having twenty-five episodes aired in April 2014, followed by the second season of twenty-five episodes in October 2015, a third season of ten episodes in Oct 2016 and the fourth season of twenty-five episodes divided into two parts in January 2020 and October 2020.
